Overview

For candidates actively seeking employment, LaPieza has positioned itself as one of the top job search engines in LATAM. However, it is not the only platform our users turn to, making the job search process overwhelming with very few responses.

On the other hand, companies require users to provide comprehensive candidate profiles to facilitate the recruitment process.

How can we create an experience that empowers candidates and enables companies to find the best talent within seconds?

Process

Setting the foundations

As a Start-Up, internal processes are fast-paced and scalable. Therefore, the methodology that best fits our area is Lean UX. Working in a dynamic of early validation and continuous improvement, finding the balance between business objectives and user needs.

The concept was clear.

More candidates with complete profiles, greater opportunity to find talent within seconds.
To support candidates in making their applications stand out, we should guide them to align with the psychology of headhunters.

Challenges along the way

To address the challenges faced by LaPieza and create an empowering experience for candidates while facilitating efficient talent acquisition for companies, a comprehensive UX design process was followed. The process began with extensive benchmarking to analyze the existing job search engines in LATAM and identify areas for improvement.

User interviews were conducted to gain insights into the pain points and frustrations faced by candidates during their job search process, as well as to understand the needs and requirements of companies in terms of candidate profiles. Stakeholder interviews were also conducted to gather their perspectives and align goals.

Based on the research findings, key insights were identified, such as the overwhelming nature of the job search process and the need for companies to quickly find suitable candidates. With these insights in mind, design proposals were developed, focusing on streamlining the job search experience and optimizing the candidate profile creation process. Multiple iterations of wireframes and prototypes were created and tested with representative users to gather feedback and validate the proposed solutions.

Through user testing and feedback, refinements were made to the design, ensuring that the final solution addressed the pain points and met the needs of both candidates and companies.

Outcome

The resulting UX design aimed to empower candidates by simplifying the job search process, providing personalized recommendations, and enhancing the visibility of candidate profiles for companies. Furthermore, it aimed to enable companies to quickly find the best talent by offering intuitive search and filtering options.

Resulted in a 46% increase in the number of complete profiles on the site for job applicants.

By following this UX design process, LaPieza was able to create an engaging and efficient experience for candidates, while providing companies with a streamlined recruitment process, ultimately positioning itself as the go-to platform for job search and talent acquisition in LATAM.
